      学院奖得主乔恩·沃伊特（曾出演影片《拳王阿里》，《解脱（获释）》，《午夜牛郎》）在这部超自然的惊悚片中饰演约翰 ·柯斯基，一位受命调查警长孙女失踪案的警探。直来直去的柯斯基并不愿意和法雷合作。而法雷是一位有名的通灵者，其宣称见过失踪女孩艾米的影像。随着案件调查的深入，情况变得越来越扑朔迷离，一个麻烦重重鬼影绰绰的家族被曝光。而柯斯基本人也开始怀疑自己的神智，他还被迫面对自己内心的一个黑暗秘密。
     《超越》有它的精彩瞬间。我喜欢电影结尾的方式，尽管迷局提前被揭开。沃伊特在一个情节的表演有些直白 （如果是褒义的就是平实），而这个情节的设计本来应该更多强调人物背景，以便给观众一点儿时间去理解人物。如果你想看一部相对安全不太刺激的惊悚片，《超越》无疑是理想的选择，比起目前在电视上演的那些侦探片，它谈不上更好，也说不上更差。影片炮制的不错，但是深究其素材和深度，很难让人保持持久兴趣。
      乔恩·沃伊特在这部低成本制作的通灵惊悚片中出演一位试图追踪失踪女孩的警探。当艾米（克劳伊·雷思丽饰），当地警长的女儿失踪后，未卜先知的警探约翰 ·柯斯基（沃伊特饰）被委派办理此案。柯斯基被要求与宣称见过Amy影像的灵媒法雷（泰瑞·波罗饰）一起办案之初，他并不觉得这起案件有什么特别之处。但随着二人不断发现挑战他们信念核心的凶兆，柯斯基的观点很快转变了……
