　　2003年，在伊拉克战争时期，赫勒比德(Nayyef Hrebid)与阿拉米(Btoo Allami)坠入爱河。他们都是伊拉克军人，赫勒比德以翻译员身份帮助美国海军陆战队训练伊拉克新兵，而阿拉米就是来自伊拉克军队的新兵之一。某天夜里，他们分享了第一个吻，美妙的感觉令阿拉米整整两天茶饭不思。
　　赫勒比德表示，他和阿拉米被迫在谎言中遮遮掩掩地生活。每逢休假，他们就去没有熟人的城市短暂相聚。一旦他们的性取向被人发现，等待他们的将是暴力、虐待甚至死亡。
　　随着伊拉克战争逐渐平息，赫勒比德发现许多翻译员准备离开伊拉克前往其他国家，于是他有了同样的想法。“如果我们留在伊拉克，将不得不找个女人结婚，这是在伊拉克生存的唯一办法。而且，我为美国人工作过，被民间武装分子视为叛徒。我也有权活下去，我必须拯救自己，拯救我和阿拉米的关系。”
　　流亡之路的艰辛是一般人无法想象的，唯一能让赫勒比德和阿拉米感到欣慰的是他们始终同甘共苦、不离不弃。赫勒比德说：“有些时候我们甚至无法见面、无法触碰对方，但这一切都让我们的爱更强大，因为我们知道，无论发生什么事情，总有一天我们会团聚。”
　　这部纪录片由奥斯卡奖得主奥纳(Eva Orner)和麦金(Chris McKim)联合执导，6月2日在洛杉矶电影节首映，6月13日在Logo电视台纪录电影频道播出。
